The Clinic l’Ergothérapie du Développement values collaboration with the family, so parents are generally present during interventions. However, depending on therapeutic goals, there may be times when the parent is not present. The preferences of the child and their family are taken into account.
A 50-minute clinic session is $125. The price is adjusted based on travel for home-based therapy.
Typically, a session lasts 50 minutes. It is possible to have shorter sessions (e.g., 30 minutes) or longer sessions (e.g., 90 minutes) depending on the reason for the consultation.
To provide appropriate interventions, an evaluation is necessary. If the child has already been evaluated by an occupational therapist within the past 6 months and their functional profile is stable, it may be possible to create an intervention plan based on the completed evaluation. Otherwise, a supplementary evaluation will be required.
The clinic evaluation process includes the preparation of a report. The cost is $70 per hour of writing.
Most follow-ups are conducted in the clinic or remotely. However, it may be necessary for the occupational therapist to visit the home for specific needs (e.g., sleep).
A referral from a physician is not required to consult with an occupational therapist in a private clinic.
